So the past two days I feel like I am officially becoming an italian..i have gotten so many mosquito bites, walked 23 out of 36 hours and rested my whoooole sunday! saturday night was a really fun night, we tried to find a reggae concert but come to find out it wasn't a concert and its a political campaign! so we ended up going to some bars and just having a really good time..the clubs are so crazy here! sunday we tried to go and find cafe but everything is closed on sundays! i seriously thought a tumbleweed was going to be rolling by in the streets as we were attempting to find a cafe..we then found one in the more touristy areas since we knew that would be open..got a panini with bruscetta and mozarella cheese..then lauren and i just layed in our bed the whole day eating apples and nutella (my new favorite food!) and just listening to italian music, trying to speak italian and living the italian life of doing nothing..
this morning we had a meeting for my school and we got our calendar, more rules and when our classes were. we then picked up more paninis and i got bruscetta and egg plant..looved it! you seriously can't ever go wrong with the food here...we then started walking to the ponte vecchio which is gooorgeous..its definitely an area that is more touristy and we really had to hang onto our purses..and it had the first fountain that we could drink out of! it was actually pretty good! we then walked in an area that was more expensive stores that i know i will never shop at when i am here haha we then found a plaza with a huge tent in the middle where you can just sit at..so we sat there for about two hours and it actually started to rain..my friend liz and i talked with an italian man for majority of the time and he was trying to help us with learning italian..we then went to a cafe that is the oldest cafe in the world..a guy told us that people learn about this cafe in bartender school cuz its so famous..but we just got waters but they were 7 euros! so reeediculous! it was still raining so we decided to take our first bus trip! it was 1.20 euro so not too bad and it took us right to our hotel! and we passed our new house so it was right on the way! i am back at the hotel right now and heading down to dinner now..
ciao for now! love and miss you all!

ReplyDeleteHi Michelle! I love reading your blog! I can just imagine you talking as I am reading. I'm enjoying the Italian novels that I took right off of the table centerpiece at your house the other night, and I can see the streets and sights where you are by looking on Google Maps... so awesome!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you are enjoying such a fabulous adventure!
Sending you love across the miles from Lynn :)
